The woman recently uploaded a degrading photo of a homeless McDonald’s worker. She clicked him sleeping in one of the restaurant’s booths. She is now apologizing for her deed saying, ‘I didn’t want to hurt him.’
Luann Cofield recently snapped a photo of Simon Childs, 21. He was in a Fayette County at McDonald’s in between shifts.
She shared it on Facebook siting that the homeless population was ‘just another reason for me to leave Fayetteville.’
While her post was offensive but it did a lot good than harm Childs’ life.
Childs mother recently passed away and he was having a hard time to provide for his four-month-old baby.
He said to WSB-TV, ‘I’ve been going through a hard time with my mom passing.’
The photo got viral for all the good reasons. It got noticed by the local Georgia community and they donated him a new wardrobe, a free haircut, and also helped him land a decent job at a construction site.
Childs said to WSBTV, ‘I’m no longer sleeping at McDonald’s so that’s good…I feel great.’
The woman recently met Childs and hugged him. She said, ‘I’m sorry, you know? Because you know that horrified me. That breaks my heart for you.’

She was later asked if she would do something like this again to which she replied, ‘ Absolutely not. And I would handle it differently. Maybe talk to somebody, talk to them and see what the situation.’
Her Facebook post lead to public outrage with people slamming her for her hurtful words. She subsequently deleted her account.
However offensive, Childs is thankful to her and said, ‘I do want to thank you. Not for the post per se, but for helping me pick my life up off the ground.’
