Julie parked in a handicapped spot and had the appropriate placard to park there.
But she was horrified when she walked back to the car and found a handwritten note left on the windshield. There was just one work on that piece of paper but it was enough to make her stomach drop:
“Faker,” it read.
What the ignorant author didn’t know was that Julie has been suffering from a medical condition for eight years.
She was diagnosed with an illness called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a painful condition that causes her blood pressure to drop all of a sudden to dangerously low levels while her heart rate skyrocket like anything.
Symptoms can arise any time making her handicap parking very necessary.
Julie was really distressed about the note and so she decided to share her story on social media.
She said, “It was a moment of absolute defeat and frustration. To once again be invalidated by someone who doesn’t know me and doesn’t know how hard I fight just to walk out to my car was another slap in the face.”
