A heartbreaking photo of a pooch holding up at his late owner’s hospital bed has seen a number of would-be owners come forward to adopt him.
The picture of three-year-old Labrador blend Moose sitting persistently by the empty bed was uploaded to Facebook by North Star Pet Rescue, a New Jersey charity, on Tuesday.
It has since been shared a large number of times and Eleventh Hour Rescue – the pet hotel in Randolph, New Jersey that is at present taking care of Moose – said it had received several applications to re-home him.
*** 6/19/19 Update from our friends at Eleventh Hour Rescue: Thanks to the power of social media, Moose has received…
Moose sat patiently next to his dad’s hospital bed, waiting for him to return, not knowing that ‘Dad’ had passed away,’ the post reads.
‘He’s taking the loss of his dad pretty hard. Please help Moose find a new home and a family for him to love. He’s a sweet happy boy by nature. He just needs people to help his heart heal.’
‘If you can help Moose’s heart heal by offering him a temporary foster home or a permanent home, please go to ehrdogs.org and put in an application to meet this sweet, loving boy,’ the post concludes. ‘Let’s mend this broken heart, together.’
