Brazil Military Is Dumping Water on Burning Amazon To Put Down The Fire

Brazilian Hercules warplanes have now been sent to dump thousands of gallons of water on the Amazon state of Rondonia. The move came in response to a global outcry against the destruction of the world’s largest tropical rain forest.

President Jair Bolsonaro had now authorized military operations to combat raging fires in the Amazon.

A video posted by the Defense Ministry shows a military plane pouring gallons of water as it passed through clouds of smoke.

The response comes as G7 nations expressed grave concerns over the fires. Nearly 80,000 fires have been registered so far.
