Rosanna Arquette recently apologized for being ‘born white and privileged’ on social media.
The Pulp Fiction star, 59, rolled out this statement via Twitter on Wednesday and after that made her account private.
The award-winning actress wrote in her tweet: ‘I’m sorry I was born white and privileged. It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame.’
The actress has always been forthright with her opinions. She was first women to call out Harvey Weinstein on his behavior, an act that sparked up the #MeToo movement.
Talking about this in 2017, the actress said her career has suffered after she rebuffed Weinstein’s advances in the early 1990s.
Rosanna’s Oscar-winning sister Patricia, also came forward and wrote about her sibling’s bravery at the time.
She said, ‘I am very proud of my sister @RoArquette and all the women and men & police who spoke up in this article.’
